Pet Adopting
I’ve been watching TLC and animal planet for a long time now and have been begging for a dog of my own. My mom won’t look any where else than Petfinder.com. This site helps adopt out dogs that have been on deathrow and been saved from death. I won’t turn anywhere else than this site.
How it works:
Type in the site into your address bar and wait for the page to load.
On the left side of your screen you should see a search bar asking you for the type of animal, the breed and your location. Type in whatever you like and then click search. A list should then come up with the provided and avaliable animals in that criteria. If you’re interested in the animal you’re looking at click on the name of the animal and it should bring you to the animals information page. If you’re interested in adopting the animal scroll down to the bottom of the page and you should find the email, the phone number, and another link to where you can see more about the place or organization the animal is located at.
I learned about this website from watching TLC’s Last Chance Highway. This show is about this group of people in Tennesse who go out and find lost/ abandoned dogs or dogs set for euthanasia and take them to “dog mama’s” so that they can stay there and be trained for a while until they can be adopted out. When a dog is adopted they have a big pick-up truck and they transport animals up north from Tennesse to New York so they can be with their new families.
