Why have an internship?:

At my high school-the Met Sacramento- I am required to have an internship. I get Tuesdays and Thursdays to go out into the world and get an internship/ shadow day in a career area that I find in my interest area and that I am passionate about. For me, that would be fashion. I want to be a fashion designer when I grow up. I want to show at Milan Fashion week and at Mercedes Benz fashion week. Now, when I say I get Tuesdays and Thursdays off, I DON’T mean that I can stay home if I want. If you don’t have a shadow day or an internship, you MUST be at school looking for one.

What do you do at your internship?:

At my internship I work the cash register, I man the store when my mentor goes out to run errands, I talk to customers, I answer the phone, I dress the manequins and I price things. I have lots of fun at my internship, my mentor keeps me on my toes. She is absolutely fabulous and is so fun to work with.

Internship Project?:

As I said in the beginning of this post and the last post, I am doing a fashion show for my internship project. My fashion show will have 10 looks. I will be doing EVERYTHING by myself aside from maybe modeling the clothes and setting up the runway. I am sewing, writing, and documenting everything by myself. This fashion show will be colorful and vibrant with crazy colors and patterns. Now keep in mind I am 15 and this is the first time I’ve EVER taken on anything quite this big. I have only sewed minor things like a crappy tee shirt, pajama pants, a little bag and a skirt. I have not sewed in a very long time and I am however planning on taking FASHN 150-which is the introductory to fahsion class- at Sacramento City College.

Going to college?:

Yes you read right, I am a high school student going to college. My school has a partnership with Sacramento City College and the students are allowed to take college classes as long as they maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or above and it does not interfer with their in school classes. I have taken a college class before, which was the HCD 320 (I think) and the class was a required class that all first time college/high school students must take before being able to take another college course of their choosing. The class is an introductory to college/money managing class. I’ve done that class so now I’m moving on to taking my own college class. They say that If you continue and work your way to it, you can get your AA by the time you finish High School! That is ultimately what I am working towards.

What is your fashion show going to be/look like?:

Well, While I’d like to spill the beans and just tell you all about it and show the fabric and what not, I’d like to keep this a secret and I’ll just tell you what I can for right now without saying too much. The show is going to be a spring collection so you can expect lots of color and wild patterns. There’s also going to be an amazing stage and decorations as well as super cute accessories.

When and where is your fashion show going to be?:

I am going to be doing two shows. The first will be the presentation of it as a project for my school and the second will be the real show somewhere in the Downtown area(maybe) I’m still looking for a place to have it. I am aiming for March the 26th for the first show. Then maybe the 30th for the actual show. I am hoping to get it inside somewhere that isn’t much to rent or isn’t any rent. I will be charging admission though. $12 a ticket to get in and watch. When I know for sure what day and where, I will be sure to post. First Fabulous Fashion Adventure post!:

The first thing that I am planning on fixing would be the youtube videos. I also plan on putting up a game play page with videos of game walkthroughs and such by people like TobyTurner. But I have to tell you something that I just learned recently (like yesterday) which actually freaked me out. In one of the comments on a youtube video for a gamewalkthrough (and I looked it up to make sure it’s real), it’s stated that the government is planning on passing a bill that will take down any copyrighted video footage of games that are being used for financial gain and without the owners approval. This means no more TobyTurnerGames, no more helpful walkthroughs and no more of those funny Phoenix Wright videos I’ve posted in the past. It’s not known when the bill will be passed but I would suspect anytime in the near future. So with that looming over head, I’m going to try to post as many vids as possible before the bill passes so that you can watch and get your tips and hints.

Next thing I’m going to be posting is a page of music. Yes, who knew Hilery had any musical talent? I play piano and a little guitar so I while be posting vids of me playing some of the songs that I’ve learned and some songs that you can feel free to request (just as long as it isn’t anything like Circus Gallop)

For the few of you that actually read the posts and look at the home page of my wordpress, you’ve probably noticed all of my fashion posts. I have been using polyvore.com and pintrest a lot lately and have been getting really into fashion design (links as bottom). I plan on having a fashion page with fashion design of the day featuring things I might put together on Polyvore.

Lastly, I have big news. At my High School (The Met Sacramento, link at bottom) we are required to have an internship and go out into the world and pursue a career that we find in our interest area. Since I’m interested in Fashion, I choose a boutique in Old Sacramento called U.Be.U Fashion Boutique, which I have talked about in my other posts. She sells vintage, trendy and modern clothes and what I do is style the manequins, run the cash register, man the store when she’s out running erands, talk to customers, answer the phone and help open the store. Now, my HS requires you to do an Internship project. I have decided to do a runway show! I will be doing a spring fashion show sometime in March of 2012 at my school and then at another place (which I still have to find) and I will be doing this completely on my own without any help in sewing. I know that this is a lot to be taking on, especially at my age, but I want to do this and I just feel that I can do this. This is what I want to do. So, since I have to have evidence and a timeline to present along with my project I will be making a video diary of the project and I will be posting the videos on here whenever they are filmed. i am planning on going to San Francisco soon to go to Britex fabric store to get my fabric and patterns so when that happens I will NOT be posting any new pages or posts because I will have no means of accessing internet. But If any of my lovely readers are in the Sacramento area, feel free to stop by my internship site-I’m there on Thursdays and Fridays after 12- or keep reading and watching the vids and I will be sure to tell you the dates and times that I am showing the runway show at.

Alright so, firstly, who the FUCK made you blessed and told you to spread the hatred of gays to others? This is what fucking starts wars not sexual orientation. You’re the kind of prick who laughs at gay kids when they kill themselves for feeling unloved and bullied. GO. FUCK. YOURSELF.

I can say this because:

a) I’m kinda Christian/ have Christian beliefs, but I could care less on who’s having sex with who unless they’re celebrities, or who’s getting married to who (again) unless they’re celebrities.

b) THERE IS NO WAR ON ERLIGION!!!! Get over yourself.

c) When the fuck did this become Obama’s war?

d) You’re stupid. Kids are actually allowed to pray in school, it’s just that your teacher can’t have you pray to a certain deity.

e) You say that it’s bad that our children can’t pray in school. There’s a erason that teachers are required to not have kids pray by the government. It’s cause other parents get pissed off when people have their kids pray to a different God like Shiva.

f) Keep the Christ in Christmas? Please. Learn about its Pagan roots.

g) Faith didn’t make the government and didn’t make America, the pilgrims left Europe to get away from religious persecution. Why the fuck would they then say “hey! let’s make this new land a place where we have laws and rules set on religious practices like Christianity!” No. Actually do a search for the word God in the Constitution. Only one reference to any higher power, but even then, the document, in no way, states that this country was founded on any religion.

My point was not to slam Christians, because I’d be slamming myself and it’s none of my concern how you practice your religion, who to and what you’re beliefs are. I got pissed off at peoples ignorance and when you go and insult gays like that, it’s no wonder that kids that are homosexual are killing themselves! You are entitled to an opinion, but when it’s something like sexual orientation, or segregation, do us all a favor and keep it to yourself, because Rick Perry, that’s the shit that starts wars. That’s fucking amazing that you’re a Christian, but don’t try to justify your hate on the gays with your religion. Are you spreading the love of Christ and loving all men like your brothers and sister? I think not. So once again, go fuck yourself and die in a hole.

Also I found a video that I completely agree with and got some of my support from this video. Thanks dude. You’re amazing for being so blunt and true like that. Keep on keeping on.

Well, it is officially Halloween time!!! WOOT WOOT! anyways, for those who read my blog, you might have noticed that I haven’t posted anything new in a while except for the Halloween parties page (link at bottom) and maybe re-posts of Sailor Moon videos. But other than that I haven’t done much. The reason for that is.. well there’s multiple reasons actually(well it’s more of a list of crappy excuses and how many I can name (: )

1) School: I’m trying to keep my grades up and above 90-i’m going for all 100%s but it’s not working out too well- and my classes have just given me a bunch of tests all on Friday so I’ve been studying my ass off and I think I might have missed maybe 1 or two questions on my tests (Yippee!).

2) Writer’s block: Nothing has really happened of lately that has inspired me to really write an article about it. So If you have anything that you want me to type about, e-mail me or leave a comment and I’ll do my research on it and type it up as best I can.

3) PSAT: I just took the Practice SAT’s today…I know! It’s Saturday and I had to be at school at like 8:30! Isn’t it enough I have to see you people DURING the week? Anyways, I took that today and it lasted like 3 hours and to tell the truth it was pretty hard. Like the only section i’m confident I did well on was probably Grammar and corrections and such.

   Reason number four seemed pretty good but instead I thought it was more of a what’s new thing.

   Other than my list of things I’ve been pretty busy, what with school and all. I just went on a shadow day to an Glamazing boutique in Old Sacramento called U.be.U fashion boutique (link also at bottom of page). It’s run by a really amazing and fun woman and there’s spectacular vintage clothes as well as modern and fun clothes like amazing logo tee’s and some checkered boots that would be totally amazing with skinny jeans and an off the shoulder shirt, but that’s beside the point! This place is awesome and I had a wonderful time at my shadow day there. Everyone go check it out!

   I’ve also been kind of working on putting together a field trip and my exhibition which is due in two weeks. I haven’t even started =.=’ I had my internet crash and burn in my face. Yeah! Just my internet, the rest worked fine so I was stuck last night having to type and play fisher price PC-rom games! (i know I’m a total dork.) And my computer doesn’t have power point so I got to type up my English papers and vocab for like… the next 4 weeks!

   For the field trip, we’re planning on going to see a movie at either the Crest or Tower theater in downtown after exhibitions are over. We’re still looking into which movie and how much money everyone needs and what not. There’s still a couple of kinks to work out before we can send out an e-mail to my advisory. Also if anyone knows of some awesome-and kind of educational- films out right now, let me know!

   Lastly, I just wanted to type about things that are going to be put up soon-i promise- because I think that it’s high time for some updates!

NEW POSTS!

   I’ve been thinking with the idea of starting a fashion page…but I think we all know that from my past attempts, they didn’t do so well. I’m might try again and with a different format and a better approach.

   Music/sheets/ vids/tutorials: I have become quite obsessed with synthesia on youtube and have taken it upon myself to record whenever I’ve learned a full song. I might add in something here like it takes me a really long time to learn a full song mainly because I suck at reading notes >.< But if I can get my vids on youtube-hopefully that’ll be soon- then I’ll have the page up. Also, whenever I look up sheets I write them down or save the link just for you :) So if you’ve been looking for Phantom of the Opera sheet music for the piano, I’ve got it.

   Art/photoshop:With my mediocre photoshop skills and paying attention to the lovely youtube tutorials, I’ve learned just a little bit more about using Photoshop and have started doing tiny dabbles. I have also been taking tons of pictures on my not-so-impressive camera. Some of the shots though came out really good. That may be a page as well!

   Sailor Moon: In one of the posts I did-i think- I wrote about how they keep getting taken down. If I didn’t post this I’ll post it now. I’m getting my videos all from youtube and when the video is deleted on youtube, it also gets deleted here and since Sailor Moon is like so big and stuff, there’s been tons of copyright crap and every time I post vids on here they end up getting taken down like 3 days later. So just keep checking the pages for me and keep coming back because I’m trying my hardest to find videos that haven’t been copyrighted.

So in honor of the last chapter of the kids and teachers we all grew up with, I wrote an article on Harry Potter and am going to upload some more Harry Potter pictures.
